Keeping Your Partnership Vibrant: Here is How It Works!

Have you been in a relationship for a while and routine has set in, perhaps even boredom? Do you want to keep your partnership vibrant? Here is how it’s guaranteed to work!
Just think back to when you first met and were freshly in love. Back then, EVERYTHING was exciting and new, and you could hardly wait to be together again. As soon as you know each other longer, perhaps even live together or have started a family, the magic fades and all too often you just function on autopilot. Or even worse, the woman nags and the man retreats into his job or tasks. A vicious cycle begins, because the more he withdraws, the more she nags, and vice versa. As in this article about relationships, I want to emphasize once again that the key lies in the fact that you can CREATE and do not have to just watch as you grow further and further apart.
So it’s all about bringing back the magic. 😉
Bring Surprise and Uncertainty into the Mix
The magic at the beginning has a lot to do with the fact that you simply DO NOT KNOW what comes next, when the other person will call, when you will meet again, and what the future looks like. This uncertainty brings excitement and vitality. You can bring a touch of this into your relationship by surprising your partner with something. That can be anything: a weekend trip to Vienna, a theater visit, an excursion to a cave, a candlelight dinner at home, opening the door for him when he comes home from work wearing a very special outfit and having everything prepared for a special evening, a dance class, a horseback riding course, a meditation weekend, etc. etc. Surprises help you break out of familiar patterns so you can spontaneously experience and discover each other anew.
Be an Interesting Partner and Learn Something New
Have you perhaps become a bit boring yourself? Remedy this quickly and try something new: what have you never done before? What could you learn that you’ve always been interested in, but haven’t dared to do? In a book, I once read the tip to try something completely new every week. This doesn’t have to be a trip around the world, but can also be something small: cooking a new dish, exploring an unfamiliar topic, painting a picture, learning to knit, learning a new computer program, etc.
Do Things on Your Own Sometimes
To be able to keep a partnership vibrant, it is also important to take a step back: to do things without your partner. You can travel for a few days with your girlfriends/family or go to a course. It is important to have your own hobbies and interests. How can you miss each other if you are always together? The joy is all the greater when you come back together and have a lot to talk about. 😉 Encourage your partner to do things without you and be happy for them.
Take NOTHING for Granted
Be grateful in every moment for your partner and what you share with one another, and do not take it for granted. People who have experienced crises often realize in the face of a potential loss how truly valuable the other person is. You don’t need to wait for a crisis to happen; instead, you can tell your partner again and again: it’s wonderful that you’re here; it’s wonderful that you exist; thank you for standing by me; thank you for understanding me; thank you for loving to talk to me; thank you for always helping me, etc. There are so many moments in everyday life when we can be grateful, and it revitalizes our relationship when we express it in words and deeds.
I hope I was able to inspire you on how to keep your partnership vibrant 😉 Feel free to leave a comment 😉
